Amylee Ray

 

Amylee is a multicultural feminist anarchist who is committed to breaking down interlocking systems of oppression. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Social Science with emphasis on Sociology and Anthropology and a minor in Women's Studies.

By day, Amylee is a Union Organizer. She has been working in the Labor Movement for over a decade; directing campaigns, educating staff and member leaders and representing workers in grievances and contract negotiations. She helped found and charter a chapter of the Coalition of Labor Movement Women (CLUW) in Denver, CO, where she served as Sergeant of Arms and a Board Member.

By night, Amylee helps empower and educate women about their bodies and sexuality through fun in-home presentations. "When women realize and embrace the power they have over their own bodies," Amylee says, "they often actualize that power further in their communities."  

Amylee has a passion and gift for education. She utilizes popular and adult education theories in all her workshops and leadership development work, believing that both teacher and student contribute to the process of learning. Amylee is proud of all that Earth Pearl has already accomplished and excited about expanding opportunities for women of color to express themselves through the arts.
