Washington, DC -- Earth Pearl Collective and Monica McIntyre Music Presents Conjuring Elements: A Ritual Performance, Monday October 12, 2015, 7-10pm at Creative Acts Learning Center LLC 631 STE B Pennsylvania Ave SE Washington, DC 20003. Conjuring Elements: A Ritual Performance will feature artists honoring the elements through their various artistic disciplines in an exploration of ritual meets live performance. Cellist-songwriter Monica McIntyre will embody a combination of all the elements; singer-songwriter Tattiana Aqeel will flow as water; audio composer Muthi Reed will make ether sonically tangible; street shaman Richael Faithful will help us ground down into the earth; and dancer, Burlesque performer Namii will stir up wind and fire.

Conjuring Elements: A Ritual Performance is the first collaboration between Earth Pearl Collective and Monica McIntyre Music, they believe in creating intimate performance experiences which embody healing, combine the art ritual & performance, and engage audience participation. Doors will open at 7pm for a self-guided meditation and live performances will begin at 8pm. We are also encouraging audience members to bring items for the community altar we will collaboratively build together, our altar will be a celebration of the elements.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Monica McIntyre Music is the work of Monica 'Spirit' McIntyre (gender pronouns: they-them-theirs-Spirit) a Cellist, Vocalist, Lyricist, Wellness Advocate, Sound Healer, Reiki Practitioner, and Visual Artist -- promoting empowerment and healing by any medium necessary. Singer-songwriter, dancer, and actor Tattiana Aqeel is a traveler. In Brazil she performed as a Jazz singer, in Oakland, CA she served as principal dancer with SambaFunk!, a professional Samba troupe, and in her home city, Washington, DC, Tattiana has appeared in independent films including Vow Of Silence by Be Steadwell and Consumption by Brittany Rafalak. Richael Faithful is a city conjurer and "street shaman" whose hands deliver healing energy. Namii is a multidisciplinary burlesque performer. She uses the art form to strip away politics and preconceived notions of gender and sexuality while teasing you into conscious self awareness. Namii facilitates dance and writing workshops on womens empowerment, body appreciation, and health and wellness.
