Patience Rowe

 

Patience Sings is a creator, black queer fem womyn activist, alchemist, vocalist, poet and writer from Washington, DC; a creative with a passion for social justice through spiritual wellness, the spoken word and sound.

 

As a student at Woodrow Wilson Senior High School in Washington, DC, Patience was introduced to social advocacy through art and has carried that work with her. Patience studied Radio Production at Columbia College Chicago where she worked as a Research Assistant for the Ellen Stone Belic Institute for the Study of Women and Gender in the Arts and Media and as a Leadership Scholar with Affinity Community Services. While in Chicago, Patience studied with and performed alongside many arts activists, poets, leaders in service and scholars.

 

Patience is most recently recognized as the "Scat" of the Peace & Bodyroll Duo BOOMscat. The duo released their sophomore EP and first studio project, "No Life Jacket" in December of 2014. The project debuted at #18 on the iTunes R&B charts and is gaining momentum around the world.

 

Patience is a certified Reiki Practitioner and Founding Mystic of Holisti Life, LLC, a service, jewelry, and apparel brand dedicated to offering black, brown, and queer communities access to full body, mind, and spirit wellness through the context of our own lenses.
